Black Milk - Losing out (feat Royce Da 5'9)

Curtis Cross, better known as Black Milk, is a hip hop producer and MC from Detroit, Michigan.

In 2004, he formed B.R. Gunna, with Young RJ, and Fat Ray, and together they released Dirty District: Vol. 2, a follow up to a compilation released in 2001 by Slum Village, which he had contributed production to.



Black Milk released a solo album, Sound of the City, Vol. 1, the following year and in 2006 he signed a record contract with Fat Beats Records. In the fall of 2006, he released an EP, entitled Broken Wax. March 13, 2007 he released a second album, Popular Demand.



In addition to Slum Village, Black Milk has worked with the likes of J Dilla, Elzhi, Phat Kat, Frank-N-Dank, Lloyd Banks, Canibus, and Pharoahe Monch, and handled most of the production on T3's Olio mixtape of 2006.



In the Winter of 2007/2008 Black Milk paired with Aftermath recording artist Bishop Lamont to release a mixtape entitled Caltroit, which was nominated for Best Hip Hop Mixtape at Justo's Mixtape Awards. Black Milk released an album with Fat Ray entitled The Set Up on March 4, 2008.



"Losin Out" with its exquisitely layered lyrics, loops and samples features Royce da 5'9 and comes off Tronic Black Milk's second album, which was scheduled for release on October 28, 2008 (3 days ago) through Fat Beats Records. The album was produced by Black Milk, and features guest appearances from DJ Premier, Pharoahe Monch, Sean Price, Royce da 5'9" and Dwele. The album's lead single was "Give the Drummer Sum".

Cella Dwellas - Verbal Slaughter (Ft. Inspectah Deck)

Cella Dwellas are an underground hip hop duo from Flatbush, Brooklyn, consisting of emcees UG and Phantasm.

In 2000, the duo shortened their name simply to The Dwellas to release the album The Last Shall Be First featuring this cold blooded track "Verbal Slaughter".



In 1994, the Cella Dwellas signed to prominent hip hop label Loud Records, and released their debut single, "Land of the Lost".

The following year, the duo made one of their earliest appearances on the Masta Ace Incorporated album Sittin' on Chrome, featured on the track "4 Da Mind".

Also in 1995, the Dwellas released a pair of singles, "Good Dwellas" and "Perfect Match", which were the duo's only charting singles.

"Land of the Lost", a sequel to "Good Dwellas" and "Perfect Match" were included on the duo's 1996 debut Realms 'N Reality.



The majority of the album was produced by Nick Wiz, and also featured beats from DJ Megahurtz, The Bluez Brothers and the duo themselves.

The album received considerable acclaim from both critics and underground fans, due to its unique lyrical style and dark, atmospheric production.

Allmusic writer Michael Di Bella describes the album's style as a combination of "Dungeons and Dragons-style role-playing games, horror flicks, slick, rugged beats, and imaginative, often humorous lyrics", and called the album "an exciting and bizarre ride through two warped intellects."



UG and Phantasm returned in 2000 with their simplified title, The Dwellas, and released their second album, The Last Shall Be First through Loud Records.

The album again featured production from Nick Wiz, as well as star beat-makers like Large Professor, Ayatollah and Rockwilder. Guests on the album included Large Professor, Inspectah Deck, Cocoa Brovaz and Organized Konfusion.

The album received moderate reviews, but received little attention, failing to reach any Billboard chart. The album's singles, "Stand Up", "Leakage" and "Game of Death", all failed to reach any Billboard singles chart.

Allmusic once again praised the album. Writer Jon Azpiri stated that the duo could "more than hold their own among hip-hop heavyweights" and "after listening to The Last Shall Be First, it's clear that the Dwellas have risen to another level."

The duo's only release since The Last Shall Be First was a single titled "Who Killed the Hip Hop", released in 2003. They have yet to release a third album.

Redman - Put It Down

Reginald "Reggie" Noble (born April 17, 1970), better known by his stage name Redman, is an American MC and actor. He came to fame in the early 1990s as an artist on the Def Jam label.



He is also well known for his collaborations with Method Man, including their starring roles in films and sitcoms including How High.



This track comes off Red's 6th Solo Album, Red Gone Wild...Thee Album. It was released on March 27, 2007 via Def Jam Recordings and is his sixth solo effort to date and his first since 2001's Malpractice.



Red Gone Wild features production from Erick Sermon, Timbaland, Scott Storch, Pete Rock, Rockwilder, DJ Clark Kent, and many others.

The album had been delayed numerous times by Def Jam and Redman himself, with early promotion dating back to Ghostface Killah's 2004 album, The Pretty Toney Album.



"Put It Down" (produced by Timbaland) with additional vocals by DJ Kool was the first single released off the album.



Alongside Posdnous from De la Soul, Redman is regarded by many as one of the most consistent MCs of the past 2 decades, and was named "Rap Artist of the Year" by The Source in 1992.

Mister Voodoo - Lyrical Tactics

A native of Brooklyn, N.Y., Mr. Voodoo has made a name for himself as one of underground hip hop's most talented and prolific artists.



Originally a co-host on J-Smooth's "Underground Railroad" radio program on NYC's WBAI (99.5 FM) in the early 1990s, Mr. Voo went on to become a founding member of the group Natural Elements before releasing a series of independent records following the group's indefinite hiatus.

Co-founding Hemlock Records in 2002, Mr. Voodoo has since begun using his given name, Agu, professionally.

Mystikal featuring Nivea - Danger (Been So Long)

Mystikal, is an American rapper who grew up in the 3rd Ward of New Orleans, Louisiana. He is one of the few artists from Master P's New Orleans-based No Limit label to achieve both critical and commercial success.



In 2003, Mystikal pleaded guilty to sexual battery and extortion. He is currently serving a six year prison sentence in the Louisiana State Prison system.

The Notorious B.I.G. - Juicy

Christopher George Latore Wallace (May 21, 1972 – March 9, 1997), popularly known as Biggie Smalls (after a gangster in the 1975 film Let's Do It Again), Big Poppa, Frank White (from the film King of New York), and his primary stage name, The Notorious B.I.G.



Born in Brooklyn, New York, Biggie grew up during the peak years of the 1980s' crack epidemic and started dealing drugs at an early age. When Biggie debuted with the 1994 record Ready to Die, he was a central figure in the East Coast hip-hop scene and increased New York's visibility at a time when hip hop was mostly dominated by West Coast artists. The following year, Biggie led his childhood friends to chart success through his protégé group, Junior M.A.F.I.A.



While recording his second album, Biggie was heavily involved in the East Coast-West Coast hip hop feud dominating the scene at the time. On March 9, 1997, he was killed by an unknown assailant in a drive-by shooting in Los Angeles. His double-disc set Life After Death, released fifteen days later, hit #1 on the U.S. album charts and was certified Diamond in 2000.



Biggie was noted for his "loose, easy flow", dark semi-autobiographical lyrics and storytelling abilities. Since his death, a further two albums have been released. MTV ranked him at #3 on their list of The Greatest MCs of All Time. His success and influence on hip hop music has made him a cultural icon.



"Juicy" was released as the lead single on August 8, 1994 for the album Ready to Die. It peaked at number 27 on the Billboard Hot 100, number 14 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks and reached number 3 on the Hot Rap Singles. It sold over 500,000 copies and the RIAA certified it Gold on November 8, 1994.

Dead Prez - Hip Hop

dead prez is an underground political hip hop duo comprised of stic.man and M-1.



They are known for their confrontational style combined with socialist and pan-Africanist lyrics.

These lyrics tend to focus on revolution, institutional racism, critical pedagogy, police, capitalism, education, prison systems, religion, activism against governmental repression, and corporate control over the media, especially hip-hop record labels.




Dead prez made their stance clear on their first album Let's Get Free (2000), declaring on the lead song, I'm a African that the group is "somewhere between N.W.A. and P.E."

Let's Get Free, also featuring Hip Hop was dead prez' debut album, released on February 8, 2000 on Loud Records.

Critically acclaimed upon its first release, Let's Get Free was called a "return to politically conscious rap" and "the most politically conscious rap since Public Enemy"; the duo's messages also earned them favorable comparisons with Brand Nubian and X-Clan.



The album's lyrics, performed in front of sparse beats, are startlingly direct, militant and confrontational. M-1 and stic.man excoriate the media, the music industry, politicians and poverty, and rap about Afrocentrism and Black Power.

Naughty by Nature - Pin the Tail on the Donkey

Naughty by Nature is a Grammy Award-winning American Hip hop group that at the time of its formation in 1989 consisted of Treach, Vin Rock, and the DJ Kay Gee. The group formed in East Orange, New Jersey.

The group first appeared on the music scene in 1989 releasing an album called The Independent Leaders, under their then name The New Style. The album generated the minor hit "Scuffin' Those Knees".



After the release of their first album, the group was mentored by fellow New Jersey native Queen Latifah, and subsequently changed their name.

Their first hit as Naughty by Nature was a track called "O.P.P.", which sampled the Jackson 5's hit "ABC" and was released in 1991 on their self-titled album Naughty by Nature.



"Pin the Tail on the Donkey" comes off the 1991 album Naughty by Nature. Naughty by Nature is the self-titled second album from Naughty by Nature, released on September 3, 1991 on Tommy Boy.

In 1998, the album was selected as one of The Source Magazine's 100 Best Rap Albums.

Pin the Tail on the Donkey features samples from "I Don't Know What this World is Coming To" by Wattstax, and "Welcome to the Terrordome" by Public Enemy.

EMC - What it stand for

Though not officially formed as a group until 2005, EMC came together in 2001 while touring together on Masta Ace's Disposable Arts tour. Ace described the group's formation in an interview with IllHillEast.com:

“It came about back in 2001, I went on tour to promote my album Disposable Arts and on that tour I travelled with Strick. Strick was from Milwaukee, where we found Tommy Boy at the time. And I also travel with Punch-N-Words. We ride on the road for about a month or so, we really just got to liking each other and over the course of the last 5 years we collaborated together on a lot of different records. You know, whether it be me and Strick or me and Words. Or Words and Strick. Or Punch and me. We just done so many different collaborations.



"I mean probably some in the area of 20 different records. That one, or two, or three of us had been on together. That one of us has been on a record that they done with me on my album and it just seems like the right thing to do. Also like some of the fan-sites it was kinda being spoken about before it was actually a reality. It became like a rumor. People was just like "Yo" and started putting it in the chatrooms that we was forming a group and at the time it wasn't even true and then we started talking about "yo, maybe this is a good idea, let's think about it." That's how it came about.” ”



In 2006, the group's first collaborative track was released online, titled "Four Brothers". eMC's first group effort, The Show was releeased on iTunes on February 26th, and the CD release was on March 25th. "What It Stand For", a single off the Show, was released in July 2007, and is available for free download on the group's MySpace page. It features production from Nicolay.
